The Old Line State

Centrally located on the mid-Atlantic coast, Maryland is well known for its bountiful waters of the Chesapeake Bay, Civil War battlefields and its historic early American towns. Seafood lovers flock to the Chesapeake, enjoying soft shells, rockfish, steamed oysters and blue crabs.
Featuring the longest inland shoreline in America, Maryland's historic lighthouses, maritime museums and historic landmarks entertain a wide range of visitors.
Explore the two hundred year old National Road as it stretches across the Old Line State (in reference to William Smallwood’s Maryland Line Troops), tying together the Chesapeake shores surrounding Baltimore to the Western Region's Allegheny Mountains.
