The Granite State
New Hampshire, the Granite State, is most famous for its picturesque towns, fall colors, covered bridges, fast flowing rivers and waterfalls, and the granddaddy of the northeast, Mount Washington in the White Mountains. The state's majestic mountains, picturesque farmlands and quaint villages continue to charm its visitors throughout the four seasons. Its forests and mountainous regions double as another New England recreational mecca.
The region is steeped in early history, including the Shaker Village, the ritzy resort in Bretton Woods and an opulent Mt. Washington Hotel. With over 80 state parks and 17 scenic and cultural byways, visitors will have a difficult time choosing which travel region to begin their adventure.
