The Garden State
New Jersey, the Garden State, is a pleasent mixture of highland mountains in the northwest corner of the state, dramatic midstate rivers, valleys and beautiful farmlands. As agriculture is the state’s third-largest industry, there is some credence to the nickname Garden State. Heading to the east, the topography begins to level as it approaches the famed Jersey Shores. The state boasts, and rightfully so, of its beautiful coastline, its bays and barrier islands and a long line of historic lighthouses.
Noted as the Crossroads of the American Revolution, New Jersey is also steeped in early American history and invites visitors to drop by its quaint towns and some of the oldest resort communities in America.
