The Grand Canyon State
One of America's Four Corner States, Arizona is well known for its desert climate, retirement living, and one of the world's greatest wonders, the Grand Canyon. What is not as well known is that Arizona supports the country's largest stand of ponderosa pine and holds one of the world's best preserved meteorite craters. A surprising 85 percent of Arizona land is public forest, parks and recreation land, or Native American reservations. One of the elite parkland states, Arizona is home to 31 state parks and 25 national park sites. Its red-rock plateaus, mesas, and buttes at Monument Valley are among some of the most famous desert sights in the world. If you're looking for outdoor adventure, solitude, or spectacular natural wonders, you'll find them all in Arizona.
