Little Beaver State Park, nearby Beckley, has turned into a popular little gem. The West Virginia day use park features an 18 acre lake, picnic shelters, playgrounds and hiking-biking trails.
This wonderful sunset view catches Little Beaver Lake in a calm mood. Usually, boats are found out on the lake searching for bass, crappie, bluegill, trout and channel cats. A fitness trail, encircling the lake, sees plenty of use. The lakeside area makes a peaceful setting for a daily exercise routine.
Nine miles of trails are shared between hikers and bikers. Looking more like a mountain bike paradise, the trails have seen a large increase in unauthorized new additions. With plenty of hills and dales, twists and turns, this biking haven calls for repeat performances. Listed as only 562 acres, this little mecca is packed with lots to do and plenty to see.
