The Last Frontier
Alaska, equaling one-fifth the entire size of the continental United States, is also one of the wealthiest per capita. Alaska is so large it covers five climatic regions, having twice the shoreline of the Lower 48, it's covered with half of the world's glaciers, wrinkled with 39 mountain ranges, and topped by the highest peak in North America. There are more than 3000 rivers and 3 million lakes in Alaska. For the sportsman, it's paradise!
The state offers over 75 state parks, many national preserves and monuments, historic sites and wildlife refuges.
