Cedar Creek Nature Park is home to one of the most notable natural wonders of Virginia. During the American Colonial Period the Natural Bridge was ranked as a top tier attraction, along with New York State's Niagara Falls. This National Historic Landmark continues to draw a steady stream of visitors.
It takes 137 steps to descend into the Cedar River Valley and pathway to the first glimpses of the massive bridge formation. The walkway mirrors the river and steers visitors to a path beneath the bridge opening, along the lazy river and on to Lace Falls.
The Natural Bridge park is home for countless plants and animals, with viewing opportunities throughout the park. The Summerhouse Cafe, not only provides snacks, but a great wildlife viewing area as well. The park opens at 9:00 am, a little late for some early birds. Entry tickets are available at the gift shop.
