Scenic USA - Tennessee Carmac Falls |

Nearly centered in America's eastern half of the country, Tennessee stretches across the map for more than 500 miles, from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Mississippi River. Although music is closest to the state's heart, and so well known for its bluegrass throughout the Eastern Hills, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and the Memphis Blues along the Mississippi, the state is also big on dramatic scenery. Its majestic mountains, winding rivers and over 500 waterfalls are waiting to be discovered.
For waterfall fans, Tennessee invites all to experience the highest falls east of the Rockies. Fall Creek Falls and Buckeye Falls are two of the highest and most beautiful waterfalls in the state. Pictured above is another one of the state's beauties, Carmac Falls. This 90 foot cascade is the 10th highest waterfall in the state and is located just a short distance from the main lodge at the Evins Mill Resort. Located near the town of Smithville and Interstate 40, Evins Mill offers a lodge, fine dining and spectacular views.
While it's a short hike to the 90-foot Carmac Falls, it is important to note that Carmac Falls is located on the private property of Evins Mill, a resort and special event venue that hosts weddings, conferences and other contractually exclusive events. As such, one must be a guest of the resort in order to access its property and enjoy its trails, including the one to Carmac Falls. For those who wish to do so without staying overnight, the venue offers day-tripper packages that are available by reservation-only, requiring a minimum of 24-hours in advance. For more details you may call 615.269.3740. Those who access the property without an advance reservation are trespassing and may be prosecuted.
