   The National Infantry Museum The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center - Columbus, Georgia and Soldier Center, one of the top military museums in the world, honors the legacy and valor of the U.S. Army Infantryman. Located on the 155-acre campus adjacent to Fort Benning, the museum opened in 2009. The 190,000-square-foot facility offers displays that cover 240 years of history, ranging from the American Revolution until the present. The museum offers more outdoor displays at the Heritage Walk, Memorial Walk of Honor, Vietnam Memorial Plaza Vietnam Memorial Plaza, National Infantry Museum - Columbus, Georgia (containing a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall), World War II Company Street and Global War on Terrorism Memorial, plus a 2,100-seat stadium which hosts graduations of Army trainees.
   The National Infantry Museum is free to the public and does not receive federal, state or city funding. About 30 percent Vietnam War Huey (Bell UH-1) Display - Columbus, Georgia of the museum’s annual costs are received from the U.S. Army, while the remainder of its operating expenses come from donations, special attractions, sales from the Soldier Store and Fife & Drum Restaurant, and facility rentals.
   The museum has received numerous awards, including the Thea Award for Excellence, recognized in the TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame, and three times as the USA Today's Readers’ Choice Award. Enjoy the museum every day except Mondays, and federal holidays.
