Summit County’s town of Frisco has always been a "bee hive" of activity since it was incorporated in 1880. Once a part of Colorado’s mining boom, Frisco entertained its share of colorful prospectors and miners. Today, its distinctive mountain charm isn’t wasted. "Main Street to the Rockies," area ski resorts, such as Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin, keep the town hopping during the winter months. Summertime calls to backcountry hikers, anglers, sightseers, and mountain climbers.
Frisco does its best to balance between small town appeal and a bustling resort town. Main Street not only offers a string of bistros, restaurants and bars, but a unique reminder of its historic past. Frisco Historic Park offers a cluster of preserved and restored century old log cabins, a schoolhouse, chapel, private homes and the jailhouse. Converted into a museum, Frisco’s Old Schoolhouse features railroad, mining, and pioneering displays. Nestled in the Colorado Rocky Mountains at nearly 9000 feet, Frisco is happy to share their town with vacationers from around the world.
