   Known for one of Louisa May Alcott Gravestone - Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, Massachusetts the first American Revolutionary War battles, Concord, Massachusetts, is a popular Boston suburb and tourist destination, drawing in visitors to the Old North Bridge, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and Walden Pond.
   During the mid-19th century, a now famous literary community developed in Concord led by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Other contemporary authors included Nathaniel Hawthorne, Louisa May Alcott and Henry David Thoreau. Thoreau Gravestone - Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord, Massachusetts Alcott's novel Little Women, Emerson's essay Self-Reliance, and Thoreau's Walden were exemplary works of American literature.
   Sleepy Hollow, the only active public cemetery in Concord, was said to inspire the writings of Emerson, Hawthorne, Thoreau, and was even memorialized in William Ellery Channing’s poem Sleepy Hollow. The most popular section of the cemetery is Authors Ridge. Here you'll find the gravesites of Henry David Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel and Sophia Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson and their families. Located a block east of Monument Square in Concord, the cemetery is a must-see for anyone visiting the Concord area.
