Scenic USA - Utah Bridal Veil Falls |

One of the most familiar names in waterfalls, Bridal Veil Falls, shows up in at least two dozen major waterfalls in America from Alaska to Tennessee and New York to California. Although Yosemite's 617 foot Bridalveil is spelled a little differently and everything is big in Alaska, Provo Canyon's Bridal Veil Falls is also among the country's tallest.
One of the main attractions on the 28 mile Provo Canyon Scenic Byway, Bridal Veil is one of Utah's most famous waterfalls. About 15 minutes from Provo, the waterfall drops 607 feet in a double cascade. Although the claims of its height are somewhat questionable, these lacy veils are a marvelous sight from the canyon below.
From the parking area a paved path leads out to the base of the falls. A popular summer retreat, the broad pool at the base of the falls doubles as a swimming hole for residents and nearby campers. In the winter, when the falls freeze over, ice climbers don their crampons and climbing gear, ready to tackle this giant icicle.
