Knoebels Amusement Resort is known throughout central Pennsylvania as the place for family fun. The Giant Crystal Pool, filled with 900,000 gallons of refreshing mountain spring water, is the best place to cool off during hot summer days. Amusement park rides include the Grand Carousel, where you can try to catch the brass ring, the Pioneer Train, Scenic Skyride and two world class roller coasters. With more than 50 rides and loads of snacks and food, kids will certainly enjoy their summer at the park.
In the fall, Knoebels Amusement Resort hosts the Covered Bridge and Arts Festival, set for an extended weekend from October 5th through the 8th. Sponsored by the Columbia Montour Visitors Bureau, fair goers are treated to live entertainment, festival food and a huge craft fair. Covered bridge fans are able to reserve a spot on a bus tour which runs Saturday and Sunday. Bridge fans may also enjoy a leisurely look at Knoebels Covered Bridge. Although it was built in 1975, the bridges truss works utilized 51 foot long, hand hewn timbers from the mid 19th century Berninger Grist Mill. The construction effort was led by Dick Knoebel, a fourth generation Columbia county bridge-builder. The Knoebels Covered Bridge spans the south branch of Roaring Creek, just 100 feet downstream of the amusement park and the site of original Knoebels Bridge. One of 28 historic covered bridges in Columbia and Montour counties, the Knoebels Park is a great place to start your covered bridge tour.
