The Anna Ruby Falls Scenic Area in northeast Georgia's White County is located within the Chattahoochee National Forest. The popular Blue Ridge attraction is an unusual twin cascade, where Curtis Creek drops 150 feet, and its twin from York Creek tumbles down a 50 foot waterfall. Both streams join together below the falls and form Smith Creek. It's along Smith Creek where thousands of visitors head toward the popular twin falls. The half mile route offers a paved trail for an easy climb. The footpath, following a swift flowing Smith Creek, is shaded by overhanging trees and beautified with flowering rhododendron. Visitors may pause to admire the scenery while they catch their breath from a steady climb. The creek flows out by the visitor center and alongside a wonderful picnic area, then continuing toward the park lodge and 50 acre Unicoi Lake.
For those looking for more of a challenge, a moderately trail begins at the base of Anna Ruby Falls and covers 4.5 miles to the Unicoi Park. This convenient park near the village of Helen entertains a steady stream of sightseers and vacationers. This is a fee area for those16 years of age and older, and the park is open all year.
