Scenic USA - Pennsylvania Keystone Lake |

Summertime in Pennsylvania seems to be made for lakeside camping, catching that first fish, or chasing fireflies at dusk. Here at the 1200 acre Keystone State Park, outdoor activities and parkland adventures are within an easy drive from the Pittsburgh metro area. Modern cabins, campgrounds and lake access are all within walking distance. Six miles of trails introduce first time visitors to all-season hiking. During the spring, wildflowers appear, with some arriving before the leaves on the trees. In summer, birds and young animals are being introduced to their new home in the Western Pennsylvania woodlands. During autumn, migratory birds stop-over on their way south, forest denizens ready for winter, and fall foliage begins to brighten the tree line. Along with winter’s crisp temperatures, the season's first significant snowfall brings out cross country skiers and snowshoers. Fresh snowfalls allow hikers to follow fresh animal tracks, making a wonderful learning experience for young woodsmen.
Keystone Lake, captured here in this peaceful view, offers anglers a chance at bass, tiger muskellunge, northern pike, perch and bullhead catfish. A swimming area offers summertime park guests a chance to cool off.
