The North Star State

As a home to the nation's first national forest west of the Mississippi River, many think of Minnesota as North Woods Country. With 2500 miles of scenic byways, over 800 miles of biking trails and more than a thousand lakes, Minnesota is one of the prime destinations for outdoor recreation. The Bemidji Lakes Region (headwaters of the Mississippi River), world famous North Shore and St. Croix Valley are just a few of the state’s scenic highlights.
Its Twin Cities also offer an urban setting of family fun, such as the zoo, sea aquarium, amusement parks, museums and art centers. Golf resorts, wineries, major sport franchises, music, theater, water sports, winter recreation venues and Native American Cultural sites round out the state’s attractions.
