Historic St. Lukes Church

Historic St. Lukes Church - Virginia

Photos by Ben Prepelka

Historic St. Luke's Church, Located on Benn's Boulevard in Smithfield, Virginia, stands today in remarkable condition. The English chamber organ
circa 1630375 year old structure spent the first half of its life as simply the Old Brick Church. The European Gothic influence is evidenced in its stately buttressed walls, stepped gables and its intricate brickwork. The marvelous interior woodwork displays fine workmanship and details that spell out pride and dedication. A rare and delicate English chamber organ, circa 1630, fits in well with this Registered National Historic Landmark's sanctuary.
Today, the church is open for public tours and promises to take you back to the first decades of a new America, the days of Captain John Smith, Pocahontas and Nathaniel Bacon.
