Rivaling the Swiss Alps, this mountain range is seen from the east without ordinary foothills, and the magnificent range towers over Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons National Park. The majority of park spectators look at these mountain wonders from the paved park roads which follow the valley Bear Country Sign - Grand Tetons National Park, Wyoming and the Snake River. An increasing number of visitors explore the park on casual day hikes to the park's main attractions. Some of the more adventurous set out for the pristine mountain slopes, among the towering mountain ridges and deep canyons.
In this magnificent view, hikers look out from the North Fork of Cascade Canyon toward an enchanting view of the Grand Tetons. Having made their way through Paintbrush Divide (10,700 feet) and by Lake Solitude, this remarkable scene includes a lush alpine meadow, filled with early summer wildflowers. The high altitude viewpoint, with its colorful foreground, captures U-shaped Cascade Canyon. Off in the distance looms the Cathedral Group of Teewi, Mount Owens and Grand Teton.
