The state of Kentucky extends an invitation to come out and play in its great outdoors. Whether it's caving, hiking, biking, climbing or paddle sports, Kentucky offers countless miles of fun throughout its diverse landscape. Its numerous waterways, national forestland, and large variety of wildlife make for an unforgettable stay.
For the outdoor enthusiast, the massive Red River Gorge and Clifty Wilderness offers a premier climbing location, over 80 natural bridge and arch sites, and countless miles of trails through the Daniel Boone National Forest.
One of the most popular Clifty Wilderness trails, Rock Bridge Loop #207, leads to a true natural bridge. This mile and a quarter loop weaves through a thick wilderness forest, down into the Rock Bridge Creek Valley and offers glimpses of a beautiful stream. Near the halfway point, the path opens up to a small beach setting and the sight of Creation Falls. Although you may find the Rock Bridge Loop a solitary hike, it's not uncommon to find a few folks lingering at the falls. The dappled sunlight presents some photographic challenges, but creates a delightful picnic area, complete with the sounds of falling water.
