Fulton Harbor

Fulton Harbor - Texas

Located on a Gulf Shore peninsula, between Copana Bay and Aransas Bay, the town of Rockport and Fulton share some of the most bountiful fishing grounds in Texas. Sheltered by St. Joseph Island, the area offers a mile long swimming beach, a fishing pier at Fulton Harbor, and dozens of experienced fishing guides. With all this surrounding water, there’s no doubt this is an angler’s paradise. Commercial fishermen also standby, ready to take advantage of the rich Gulf waters. This group of shrimp boat captains delight in the red sky (as well as the rest of us), knowing tomorrow they’ll find smooth Gulf waters and perhaps an exceptional haul.
The Texas town of Fulton was first settled in 1866 and named for George Ware Fulton. The Fulton mansion, of classic French Second Empire architectural styling, was completed in 1877. Now owned by the Texas Parks and Wildlife, the fully restored four story ornate mansion is open for visitation.
